The Government Markets unit of DestinationRx has served the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) since 2003, assisting the agency in the implementation of the Medicare Modernization Act (MMA) - the single most significant change to the Medicare program since its inception in 1965, ensuring over 40 million Medicare beneficiaries have access to safe and effective medications vital to maintaining and improving their health.
Our focus is on implementing technology-based solutions that allow government agencies and non-governmental organizations to look through layers of intermediaries such as health insurance plans and pharmacies to determine real costs associated with prescription drugs and other medical products and services. We realize that all solutions need to be integrated and practical, since without sound business processes and a focus on servicing an agency's or NGO's ultimate constituency, there can be little hope of technology alone achieving the organizations' goals. These services are typically customized to meet customer needs. Prescription drug data are normalized to ensure comparability from multiple sources. Comparison services can be provided as one-off reports for fairness opinions, as routine assessments, all the way through private-labeled ASP deployment. Benchmarking of prices can also be provided through our Pharmacy Benefit Analysis services. Decision Support DestinationRx provides a variety of Decision-Support tools for government payor/beneficiary programs and systems such as Medicare.gov and 1-800-Medicare. These easy-to-use tools provide quick answers for those seeking price-efficacy information for their drug and treatment regimens as well as actionable next steps to achieve cost or treatment goals. Therapeutic Equivalents DestinationRx has developed rebate-agnostic therapeutic equivalency technology for branded and generic drugs on a dosage-equivalent basis. This can be tuned to specific formularies or broadened as the needs require. Multiple pre-existing formularies can be mapped via the equivalency technology to provide a common means of comparison across programs, beneficiaries and agencies. Enrollment Technologies DestinationRx has a proprietary set of tools that help manage electronic plan and program enrollment including custom interfaces to help enrollment for those with or without Internet access. These tools are modularized to ensure that customization with customer needs (online, call-center, caseworker/volunteer assisted) is quick and easy.
Pharmacy Benefit Analysis DestinationRx leverages its unique and proprietary technology together with the full set of analytical capabilities available to PBMs and pharmacy benefit consultants. Clients use these services to measure current cost performance against goals as well as measuring improvement over time.
